Functional Nutrition is a modality that works to not just support, but to educate you about what’s going on in your body and how making uniquely targeted diet and lifestyle modifications can shift your inner terrain and help you meet your health goals.
Whether that is to lose weight, to build strength, to banish food addictions, to increase your natural immunity or to transition away from pharmaceutical drugs to more natural remedies and treatments, I can help you to reach those goals in a practical way while honouring your bioindividuality.

Hippocrates’ philosophy was that nutrition is a crucial tool in maintaining health and treating illness. This is my philosophy, as well, based on years of personal experience and that of my clients.

Functional Nutrition is not just about food and IT’S NOT JUST ABOUT WHAT YOU SHOULD OR SHOULD NOT BE EATING, it’s about transforming your relationship with food.
Food has the power to heal or harm, it’s all in the choices we make each day.
Healing with food doesn’t have to be complicated, it can be as natural as the ingredients on your plate or how you structure healthy rituals in your day. I’d love to show you how simple it can be.
My background in addiction recovery has given me a unique perspective and a deep empathy for the struggles people face, particularly when it comes to sugar and food addiction. The process to overcome any addiction is rooted in the same soil; reconnect to the person you are without the addiction, find your purpose, create achievable goals and work towards them incrementally. I also use a psychoneuroimmunolgy approach incorporating the mind-body connection which plays a crucial funtcion in overall health and well-being.

Healthy food is the way we show our bodies self-respect. It’s how we honour ourselves, as unique individuals worthy of life & vitality. I help you learn what healthy food means, why it’s vitally important and how you can begin to make small changes today that can make a real difference in how you feel. How it can increase your energy levels, your mood and your overall feeling of wellness.
I believe that food should never be a battle between what’s good for you and what tastes amazing. The two can and should go hand in hand. I will be offering many simple recipes to help get you started and classes and workshops to help you transition to a healthier diet & lifestyle. I want to make it easy for you .
It’s entirely possible to create meals that feed your body and your soul, that are both nutritious and delicious. I like helping people to understand that food isn’t the enemy, it’s an ally, a source of empowerment, and a tool for healing.
Watching others step into the realization that they can heal themselves is one of the greatest joys of my life.

Services I offer
- NUTRITION COUNSELLING – $100 per hour, by phone or video call or in-person. Do you have chronic inflammation? Weight issues? Mental health issues? Chronic illnesses? Food addictions?Let’s talk about how nutrition can play a vital role in achieving your health goals.
- FRIDGE & PANTRY MAKEOVERS – $200 for a two-hour session where we go through your space together and I offer you support to remove unhealthy foods and also offer you alternatives and tips on making healthier choices based on your family’s preferences. I LOVE doing this with clients, it really empowers you and helps you make a start right in your own kitchen.
- GROCERY SHOPPING EXCURSIONS – $200 for a two hour visit to your local store or my recommended stores. Don’t know where to start? I will walk with you and show you how to choose foods that will nourish and heal, and also taste great. I will explain how to decipher food labels, so you can make conscious decisions about what to bring into your home.
- GROCERY LIST CUSTOMIZING FOR YOU & YOUR FAMILY – $100 1-hour call with you to create lists to make shopping for healthy food stress-free. Being prepared with a list helps you avoid impulse buys and keeps you on track to achieve your goals.
- EDUCATION WORKSHOPS FOR INDIVIDUALS OR GROUPS – $50 – $200 for upcoming workshops on batch cooking, gluten and sugar free baking, preparing meals ahead (for busy people), preparing sugar free desserts that can be frozen and used to satisfy cravings while in transition.
- SHIFTING INTO ORGANIC WITH THE DIRTY DOZEN & CLEAN 15 LISTS – $150 Introduction to why it is important to choose organic to protect your family from many toxins and how you can do that within a budget (Do not believe the myth that organic costs more, it is affordable and easy to transition to and you won’t believe how much better food tastes and how great you will feel!)
- Tips on how to transition incrementally and valuable links to many organic food producers that deliver right to your door!

Root Cause Resolution
The roots that we look for in root-cause resolution exist in an environmental or biological terrain, your body systems. Getting to know how they work is what can empower you to become your own healer.
Once you understand some basic principles, and put some of these into practice, you will discover how simple it is to make small incremental changes that lead to BIG transformations in your health.
I use a multi-faceted approach to help you learn and practice incorporating bioindividual diet & lifestyle changes, herbal remedies, medicinal mushrooms, micro dosing and other modalities that can transform your health.

Just as the roots of a tree grow in soil, the roots of a health issue grow in an environment that is conducive to that particular problem. Issues like leaky gut, blood sugar imbalance and even trapped emotions all play a role in your overall health. Everything matters.
Learn about balancing your body’s pH and why that is important, and other, easy to incorporate strategies that work.
Unhealthy soil does not produce healthy plants (or vegetables, or fruit, or medicine, etc.) or healthy humans! Work on the soil and the things that grow in them will flourish.
Most chronic conditions are also multi-factorial, meaning there are several factors at play. I love to be a health detective! I can help you learn to be curious, to become more aware of the signs that your body may be giving you and what they mean for your health.
Health issues (symptoms and complaints) always have a root cause. When you discover the root cause, you can free yourself from chronic symptoms and begin to develop habits and practices that enrich that terrain and can bring you back to a balanced state of health & vitality.
Don’t keep masking symptoms with band-aid solutions like pharmaceutical drugs or topical treatments, or by ignoring them. Get to the ROOT CAUSE and banish illness for good!
